This is the Spartanburg book launch for CIRCLING HOME. Part of the Hub City Writers Project's Monday night literary series.

I'll be at the book festival all day, downtown in the Methodist church gym. I'll also be on a panel sometime during the day. 50 writers there. Come check it out.

I'll be in Columbia for a lunch-time signing at the Happy Bookseller. Come by and pick up a copy of the book.

I'll be at Davidson all day, visiting Annie Ingrim's envinormental lit class and reading in the evening. The reading is open to the public.

This week will be full of fun. Come and see what all the excitement is about on Wofford's campus— 500 "green" academics in town for four days!

I'll be speaking to this group for 20 minutes. My talk will be called "Chattooga: Wild River Real and Imagined." I don't think it's open to the public.

Charlottesville, VA - The Southern Environmental Law Center is pleased to host renowned southern writers Janisse Ray and John Lane at the upcoming Virginia Festival of the Book in March 2007. In a panel discussion entitled "Why Write About Nature," Ray (Ecology of a Cracker Childhood) and Lane (Chattooga, Descending into the Myth of Deliverance River) will discuss the power of the written word to reverse environmental destruction and restore natural landscapes in the South. The event is part of SELC's 20th anniversary celebration as the South's leading conservation organization.

I'll be manning the ASLE book table all week at AWP. I'll also be on a nature writing panel put together by Katie Fallon called 'Wild Classroms" with Alison Hawthorne Deming and David Gessner.

I'll be sitting at the Hub City book table this year, but should have copies of all my books there. Come by and say hello!
