This Land, This South
Submitted by John Lane on Mon, 12/18/2006 - 12:38pm. history | kudzu telegraph | land useThe last few weeks I've been reading way too much Southern history. No, I'm not talking about Stonewall Jackson, Rhett Butler, Miss Pittypat, or the moon on the magnolias. Next year "Deliverance" will be 35 years old, and it continues to resonate with those who remember seeing it the first time or have come to view it since its release. Over a hundred people came out, and when the moderator asked for a show of hands everyone present had seen the film.

I'm not saying the heat is over, but if you look and listen, it's obvious the planet's tilting toward fall.
